Note
The town of Hempstead is "commanded in the Name of the said State [New York]" to summons Joseph MacCoun to appear before Richard Jackson, Justice of the Peace, to answer to Alexander MacGriggs in an action for damages of £10 or under. Dated 13th of July, 1798 and signed by Richard Jackson, Justice. Writing on the back details the execution of the writ by Felix Fowler, Constable.
