File — Box: MSS-007.002, Folder: 2
Note
Richard Jackson promises to pay £2, 11 shillings, 3 pence to Edward Cassaty for value received. Witnessed by Joseph Barney and signed by Richard Jackson. Dated 24th of March 1737/8. The back of the promissory note contains what appears to be someone's handwriting exercise. The maxim "One moments plesure brings often times sin and sorowe" is repeated 7 times (though the last word is cut off all but the first line).
