Note

Commanding Edward Spragg, William Pidgeon, Nancy Pidgeon, Micajah Combs, Micajah Suthand, Samuel Doty and Thomas [Forabee?] to appear before Samuel Birdsall, Esq. at the house of Thomas Smith, store keeper, in South Hempstead on the 11th day of January at "nine of the clock in the morning" to testify in the matter of Thomas Smith, Plaintiff, versus William [Forabee?], Defendant. The subpoena also contains a provision at the end authorizing William Forabee to serve the subpoena "as the Constable ought to do." Dated 1st of January, 1796 and signed by Richard Jackson, Justice.
