Constable of Hempstead is commanded to summons William Lattin, son of Joseph Lattin, to appear before Richard Jackson, Justice of the Peace on the 25th of February at two o'clock in the afternoon to answer to William [?] for damages of £10 or under. Dated 15th of February, 1797 and signed by Richard Jackson, Justice. Richard Jackson additionally included a paragraph at the bottom of the writ stating that William [?] is "authorizd and Impowerd to serve the above precept [writ] as the Constable aught to do." This is signed by Richard Jackson as well.
