Note
The sheriff of Windham County is ordered to attach the property or, failing that, seize the person of Artemas Fish so that he may appear before the Court of Common Pleas and answer for a debt owed to David Brayton of Pomfret. The sum to be paid to Mr. Brayton was $1,830 with interest. Dated 3rd of September, 1812 and signed by John Holbrook, Justice of the Peace. Writing on back indicates the sheriff attempted to execute the summons but was unsuccessful.
