Shestack, Jerome

Biographical Note

Mr. Shestack (1923-2011) was President of the American Bar Association (1997-1998); served as President of the International League for Human Rights for 20 years; U.S. Ambassador to the UN Commission on Human Rights under President Carter; was a founding member of The Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights; and taught at Northwestern Law and University of Pennsylvania Law. Mr. Shestack graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and held an LLB from Harvard Law School.
