Cait Clarke, the Assistant Director at the Office of Defender Services, Administrative Office of the United States Courts and former director of Strategic Initiatives at the NLADA, has been a long-time legal educator and advocate, and has been teaching, training, and consulting on the law, policy reform and leadership skills. She was the founding Director of National Defender Leadership Institute. Her papers include reports, documentation, and training materials for defenders.

Scope and Contents The James Doherty Papers reflect Doherty's career as a legal professional, especially as assistant Public Defender (1956-1972/1986-1997) and as Public Defender (1972 -1986) of Cook County, Illinois. The collection includes Doherty's files for cases where he was defense attorney, as well administrative records of the Cook County Public Defender's Office.
