Scope and Contents

Audio and video recordings of Law Center events in a variety of analog and digital formats. The collection includes lectures, commencement ceremonies, special events, selected classes, appearances by Law Center faculty on national news shows, and activities of student groups The bulk of the collection emcompasses events on video. Some events are only audio; for a few events the collection includes both audio and video.`

Arranged in rough chronological order by calendar year. Media for each year has been brought together, but within a year, the arrangement will not be strictly chronological.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements

Media are digitized as-is with no post-production. Access files for are in mp4 (video) and mp3 (audio)

Related Materials

Law Center Photograph Collection contains still images for some events. Law Center Public Programs Collection contains printed programs and related material for selected events. Gilbert and Sullivan Society Collection contains programs and related material for Gilbert and Sullivan productions. For oral history interviews, see the Georgetown Law Oral History collection. Georgetown Law Library collection Series 11 contains interviews connected with the library's Collection Analysis Project from the early 1980s.

General

Some of the collection has been digitized; contact Law Center Archives for access. If an item has been digitized, the record for that item will have a "component unique identifier" at the top, consisting of a unique number, followed by "aud" (for audio tapes) or "vid" (for video tapes), then "lca" (Examples: 0000_aud_lca for audio or 0000_vid_lca for video). Once an item has been digitized, the original analog media is no longer retained.
