Use for Assistant/Associate Deans whose responsibilities involve administration of the Law Center as a whole. Deans who oversee a specific function are classed with the record group that corresponds to the function. Example: David Mao, Chief of Staff and Assistant Vice President of Administration (Feb.2017-). His position is an administrative one, so use RG 2-3. A position such as Associate Dean for JD Academic Affairs gets classed under RG 5, because the *function the position oversees* is the JD Program. Important thing is not the title (Assistant/Associate Dean, Associate Vice President, etc.) but *THE FUNCTION OF THE POSITION*. (JD Program, etc.)
