Biographical Note

Archibald Murray was born in Barbados. He was the first black president of the New York State Bar Association, serving from 1971 to 1973; and was executive director of the Legal Aid Society of New York from 1975 to 1994. A graduate of Fordham Law School, Murray passed away in 2001.
