Biographical Note
Robert MacCrate was president of the ABA from 1987-1989 and New York State Bar Association from 1972-1973. As the chairperson of the ABA Task Force on Law Schools and the Profession, MacCrate was editor of the 1992 report, "Legal Education and Professional Development - An Educational Continuum," widely referred to as the "MacCrate Report." It called for a more practice-oriented approach to legal education. MacCrate is a 1948 graduate of Harvard Law School.
